Good morning, it's been a crazy busy start to this morning, Katy & I will do another large bake tonight to make sure everyone has a chance to get one last goodie before we close up shop tomorrow.
In the mean time, we wanted to take a moment to share a little about Leah, the insperation behind New Dawn Bakery. Not many of you know but she had a major health scare about a year and half ago that landed her (and us) in the ICU. She was diagnosed type one diabetic in addition to being celiac, both autoimmune diseases. This diagnosis has changed the course of her life, and her busy baking parents.
We have had so many customers and friends ask us how they can help in this time of transition. Thank you. Thank you to all that have checked in and gave well wishes. What we could use help with is a service dog for Leah. Please take a moment to look at our Go Fund Me page and contribute and share if you can. Thank you!
Also, I highly recommend checking out Dogs4Diabetics. There dogs are the best and it is (essentially) free.
We have a service dog from Trained Labrador Retrievers in Browns Valley CA. The trainer had a stroke and is in the process of closing shop. He has some service dogs left and they need homes. Give them a call to see if it fits your needs (530) 682-4806
Thank you for sharing your story. Having a child with dual autoimmune diseases definitely changes our life paths. My middle son has celiac and type 1 diabetes, diagnosed at age 8 yrs old.
I wish you and your family good health and much luck with your life path.
You will be greatly missed.
My niece, Melissa Macy Arias, has shared your shop with us since you opened. I would love to come by tomorrow (Sunday). What will be your hours?
Didn’t know if you’ve heard of him before, but check out the book by Anthony William, Medical Medium. He’s helped thousands of people heal autoimmune diseases.
Very happy to hear soon Leah will be getting her doggie.♥
Good morning, we wanted to take a moment and thank everyone for the outpour of love & concern on our post earlier this week. We as a family are sad and happy all at the same time to have had to make this tough decision.
Looking back, this photo shows us where & why it all began.
We have had several inquiries about potential partnerships to keep the business going. Katy & I are very open to this possibility. The business is very sustainable, just not for us at our current energy and involvement level. If interested, please take a moment to email or message us at firstname.lastname@example.org include some information about you, your background, and how you see making this partnership work.
Now off of the business side and down to the treats:
On the menu today:
Apple Fritters Cinnamon Rolls Blueberry Coffee Cake Raspberry Scones
Good afternoon, unfortunately today's post will not be it's cheery self. After long consideration of our small growing family, Katy & I have decided to take a step back here at the Bakery and focus on the truly important part of our life, Piper & Leah.
We want to take a moment to thank all of our amazing customers for your support over the past several years as we worked to grow this small business from Farmers Market to Store Front, we will truly miss all your smiling faces and the kind praise you have given us over the years.
We will close our doors this Sunday 8-19-18 so please come stock your pantries and wish us well. We appreciate you all.
I'm so sad to hear this. I live in Browns Valley and stop in whenever I am nearby. I look forward to having a goodie and drink that don't make me sick. Please consider selling the business to someone who can take it over.
